This Art Contest can be entered by submitting your entries that depict the best of Qatar (Tourist 

Destinations/Attractions/Location/Activities/Experiences) through the medium of:

• Paintings

• Sketches

• Photographs

• Poetry

• Videos

 GUIDELINES:

• In the case of painting or sketches

  • The size of the painting / sketch must be a minimum size of 18 inches wide X 24 inches tall and maximum of 24 inches wide X 36 inches tall

• You must send a hi-resolution image of the painting or sketch – in order to be displayed without being stretched or distorted, photographs must be submitted in .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format, with a minimum DPI of 300, at least 3,000 pixels on each of the sides, no smaller than 2 MB

• No editing of the image is permitted and Organizer may ask for the original artwork as proof

• Artwork containing imagery that is offensive, slanderous, vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate will not be accepted

• In the case of photographs

• In order to be displayed without being stretched or distorted, photographs must be submitted in .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format, with a minimum DPI of 300, at least 3,000 pixels on each of the sides, no smaller than 2 MB

• • Basic editing, including colour enhancement, use of filters, and cropping of the photo(s) is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo

  • Advanced editing used to create illusions, deceptions and/or manipulations, and the adding and removing of significant elements within the frame is prohibited

• Photos containing imagery that is offensive, slanderous, vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate will not be accepted

• In the case of poems

  • The poems can be 8, 10, 12, 14, or 16 lines

  • Any genre is allowed

  • The poem can be with or without rhyme

  • All poems should be in English or Arabic

  • In case of Arabic, an English translation must be provided

  • Poem must adhere to basic rules of capitalization: please do not type poem in all capital letters and do not capitalize the first letter of every word; only capitalize words that are proper (i.e. names and places), and the first word of each line may be capitalized.

  • Please proofread your poem for any grammatical errors or typos.

  • Please do not use slang or other texting lingo; spell out all words.

  • Poems containing language that is offensive, slanderous, vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate will not be accepted

• In the case of videos

  • The video must be a maximum of 1 minute long.

  • The video must be uploaded to an online video platform, like Vimeo or YouTube, with the URL provided as part of your contest entry

  • The video must be Your original work, not copied from others, and must not violate the rights of any other person or entity.

  • The video must contain only authorized content—including music, images, film clips, and other intellectual or copyrighted property

  • Video containing imagery that is offensive, slanderous, vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate will not be accepted

All entries must follow the guidelines below

• All submissions for the contest must be your absolute property – submitting an entry automatically implies that you are the absolute copyright holder of the entry or have been authorized by the copyright holder(s) to submit the same, and that there is no other person or entity with copyright/authorization for the same

• Entries that include provocative, lewd, inappropriate, offensive, violent, and/or sexual content; include offensive or vulgar language; are contrary to the law, religious, cultural & moral traditions and practices of Qatar; include trademarks, logos, or other intellectual property not owned by You, will be disqualified and we will reserve the right to take strict action against You, including action that is possible to the fullest extent of the law

• Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified – the absolute and complete right to debar a participant or disqualify any submission rests with the ORGANIZER with no limit or challenge

• You must warrant that you have obtained all necessary releases from models and other subjects featured in the works of art and any additional releases required with respect to names, trademarks, designs, or works of art depicted in the submitted work of art and that the creation, display, or distribution of the work of art will not violate any law

• You warrant that the submitted entry is an original work of art and not a copy or derivative of any other copyrighted or published work of art
